Environmental Scientist III
Whitenton Group, Inc. (WGI) Environmental Consultants is seeking to hire mid level environmental scientists to assist with wetland delineations and endangered species habitat evaluations in the southeast. These positions are temporary and require travel/extended stay (10-15 days at a time). Applicants should have a bachelor's or master's degree in a natural resource discipline and 3-7 years of experience with wetland delineations and habitat evaluations. Knowledge of GPS and plant identification required. Knowledge of the Rapanos case (it's affect on jurisdiction), new wetland data forms associated with the Great Plains region, and jurisdictional determination forms is preferred.:
Senior Project Manager – Natural Resources
Whitenton Group, Inc. (WGI) Environmental Consultants is seeking to hire a Senior Project Manager with expertise in waters of the US, endangered species, and plant ecology. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of a variety of natural resource projects. This will include preparing technical assessments, applications, and supporting documents for permits related to our projects. The Senior Project Manager will prepare scopes of work and budgets, manage projects and staff, interact with regulators, and will be responsible for client retention and recruitment. Position is located in San Marcos or Houston, Texas.
Requirements include:
Extensive knowledge in:
- Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act & Section 10 of the River and Harbors Act
- Section 7/10 of the Endangered Species Act
- Permitting
- NEPA document preparation
- Habitat Evaluations, Wetlands/Waters Delineation, Endangered Species Surveys
- Strong technical writing and computer skills
- Experience with a variety of small and large scale projects (pipelines, utilities, transmission, development, etc)
- MS (preferred) in natural resources or related degree
- Knowledge of erosion/sedimentation control, storm water pollution prevention plans, water quality compliance a plus
