INSTRUCTOR BIOS

Lisa C. Gandy, PhD, PWS - Dr. Gandy is an environmental scientist with over 20 years experience in environmental and water resources consulting. Dr. Gandy is a certified Professional Wetland Scientist and a Registered Wetland Professional. In addition to her wetlands expertise, Dr. Gandy has extensive experience in ecological risk assessment, natural resource damages assessments (NRDAs), environmental facilitation and strategic planning, environmental assessment/ environmental impact studies (EAs/EISs), wetland delineation, threatened and endangered species (T&E), and water quality assessments.

Richard W. Griffin, PhD, P.G., CPSSc – Dr. Griffin is an Assistant Professor of Agriculture and Soils at Prairie View A&M University . He has over 20 years experience with hydric soils and is known internationally for his work. He has numerous soils publications and scientific presentations, and currently serves on the National Technical Committee for Hydric Soils (NTCHS) along with several regional soils and agriculture committees. Primary research interests include: soil hydrodynamics, redoximorphic features, and environmental quality.

Scott W. Jecker CWB, PWS - Mr. Jecker is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and Professional Wetland Scientist. His expertise is wetland delineation, Section 10/404 permitting assistance, endangered species, and wildlife ecology. Mr. Jecker works throughout the southeastern United States on projects involving wetlands (delineations, permitting, violations, construction monitoring, and verifications), endangered species, water quality, and wildlife management.

Stanley Jones, Ph.D. - Dr. Jones is a plant taxonomist and wildlife biologist with more than 20 years experience in natural resources. His experience includes teaching plant identification and wetland delineation courses, endangered species surveys, vegetation surveys, wetland delineation, and biological monitoring. He is considered an expert with wetland plants, in particular the families Cyperaceae, Juncaceae, and Poaceae. He has published numerous scientific articles, contributed book chapters, and has authored and co-authored two books.

David E. Lemke, PhD. – Dr. Lemke is a Professor of Biology at Texas State University - San Marcos and is a noted authority on the flora of Texas . He has published and lectured extensively on the vegetation of the state and has considerable experience as a botanical consultant on vegetation surveys, wetland determinations, and endangered species surveys.
