An intense 2-day plant identification course focusing on vascular plant species with an emphasis on wetlands, riparian areas, and transition areas. The instructor will stress field techniques to facilitate the recognition and identification of common plant species.

The instructor will address the field indicators for hydrophytic vegetation as described in the interim Regional Supplement (Great Plains Region/Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plains Region) of the USACE Wetland Delineation manual. Participants will also be provided with the tools necessary to complete the vegetation section of the wetland data sheet from the Regional Supplement.

Students will be provided with a selected list of plants of the area, respective interim Regional Supplement, and certificate of completion. Knowledge of basic plant taxonomy is preferred but not required.
